We were beginning to wonder when we made it to Valentine's Day without even a speck of snow. But finally we had a little winter weather in late February!! It was more ice than snow and not even enough to cover the grass, but it made for good sledding and sliding around! We had a great time venturing down the cove to our friends' house to do some sledding in their yard and driveway.
And they really really wanted to make snow angels. Does not really work with ice.
Later, we made it back out for round two (minus James apparently), and came up with a great idea ... let's have mommy pull the three kids around the driveway and cove with a rope!! Except we actually found that an extension cord was longer and easier to use than a rope. It was hilarious and fun!! They started out sitting up but decided it was way more fun to be on their bellies while slinging around. They loved for me to whip them as they held on tightly. That's how you "go sledding" on flat ground!!
Then, in MARCH, the real snow came!! I was so excited because as fun as the sledding on a couple of inches of ice was, NOTHING beats a good deep snow! This snow was awesome! And it lasted for days! I think most schools were out for an entire week for it.

We had lots of fun in the neighborhood ... Sledding with the big kids (Molly, Caroline and Marco) down their backyard to the pond, snowball fights with mommy, rolling down the snowy hill, and lots more!
On one of the last snow nights, we went back down to our friends' house for some evening sledding and dinner with friends. We love having the Montgomery family as our neighbors!!
My kids loved the "train sledding."
And Elliot found his favorite sled and wanted us to pull him around on it like a chariot.
